Ann Porter’s practice focuses on complex estate, gift, and income tax planning.  She has significant experience advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals, multigenerational family offices, and fiduciaries on sophisticated wealth transfer techniques and related tax controversies, with an emphasis on structuring tax-efficient transfers of assets such as real estate, fund interests, and closely-held family businesses.  Her clients have included federal politicians, fund principals, successful entrepreneurs, and public figures, in addition to their family offices and foundations.

Prior to joining KHD, Ann practiced with the New York City offices of two global law firms and served as a Trial Attorney with the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Ann received her J.D., cum laude,  from The George Washington University Law School in 2015 and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012.  She is admitted to practice law in New York.  Her application for admission to the District of Columbia Bar is pending, and she is practicing under the direct supervision of an enrolled, active member of such bar.
