Ann Porter’s practice focuses on complex estate, gift, and income tax planning and on private trust company structuring and governance.  She has significant experience advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals, multigenerational family offices, and fiduciaries on sophisticated wealth transfer techniques, including sales to grantor trusts, intergenerational split-dollar life insurance, and family limited partnerships, to achieve tax-efficient transfers of assets.  Her clients have included federal politicians, fund principals, successful entrepreneurs, and public figures, in addition to their family offices and charitable foundations.  She particularly enjoys working with successive generations as they grow existing family businesses and wealth.

Prior to joining KHD, Ann practiced with the New York City offices of two global law firms and served as a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Tax Division.
