Family Office Symposium May 2023

Miles Padgett was a panelist for the Family Office Symposium on May 23, 2023, presented by the Washington, D.C. Estate Planning Council.  Miles spoke on the latest trends in family office investing with emphasis on private investing, whether direct investing, joint ventures, or co-investing, or through individual funds or funds of funds. This session addressed the most important legal and practical issues faced by those forming a family office including: qualifying for the SEC’s Single Family Office; accepting clients and reading to do business; and trade or business and other income tax issues.
